In our last post, we covered why intent-driven lead capture outperforms traditional popups, and how ClickIntent gets you up and running in minutes. If you haven’t read it yet, [start there →].
This post is for the next question: once you’re set up, how deep does the data go?
The answer depends on whether you’re running the free plugin or ClickIntent Pro — but even the free version gives you a surprisingly complete picture of how your CTAs are performing.
You Don’t Have to Replace Your Existing CTAs
One of the most underrated features of ClickIntent is that you don’t have to rebuild your website to use it.
If you already have CTA buttons or links on your site — whether they’re in your theme, a page builder, or hard-coded in a template — ClickIntent can track them without touching the frontend markup. You simply tell the plugin which element to watch (by CSS selector), and it starts recording clicks, conversions, and engagement events against that section.
This means you can instrument an existing sales page or landing page in minutes, without redesigning anything, and immediately start seeing which links are getting clicked and which are being ignored.
For anyone running paid traffic to existing pages, this alone is worth the install.
Free Analytics: More Than You’d Expect
The free version of ClickIntent includes a full analytics dashboard in your WP admin. Here’s what it tracks out of the box:
Clicks Every time a visitor clicks a tracked CTA, it’s logged — along with the page it occurred on, the timestamp, and basic geo data (country, region, city) pulled from the visitor’s IP. You get a clear picture of where your CTAs are being engaged, both on your site and geographically.
Conversions ClickIntent distinguishes between a click and a conversion. A click means the button was pressed. A conversion means the visitor completed the next step — submitted the modal form, clicked a tracked outbound link, or triggered a shortcode action. This click-to-conversion gap is one of the most valuable metrics in the dashboard.
GEO Analytics For each section, you can see a breakdown of clicks and conversions by country and region. If you’re running geo-targeted ad campaigns, this tells you whether visitors from specific locations are actually engaging with your CTAs.
External CTA Tracking Not all CTAs lead to a modal. If you have “Book a Call” links pointing to Calendly, or “Buy Now” buttons pointing to an external checkout, ClickIntent tracks those clicks as external conversion events — giving you attribution data for outbound actions you’d otherwise lose visibility on.
ClickIntent Pro: For Campaigns That Need the Full Picture
The free analytics dashboard gives you real-time and recent data. Pro unlocks everything you need for ongoing campaign management and reporting.
Date Filters & Custom Ranges
By default, the analytics view show data without any date filters. Pro adds a Duration Filter — you can filter by today, 30 days, all-time, or define a precise custom date range. Essential for comparing performance across campaigns or reporting to a client on a specific flight.
CSV & ZIP Exports
Every data table in the analytics dashboard — leads, conversions, funnel performance, geo breakdown, page-level data — can be exported as a CSV. Pro also bundles all exports into a single ZIP download. If you’re pulling reports for a client, a boss, or an ad platform, this is the feature that saves you hours.
Campaign Attribution & Funnel Performance
Pro surfaces funnel-level data: how many visitors clicked, how many opened the modal, how many submitted the form. This full-funnel view lets you identify exactly where drop-off is happening — click rate is fine but modal-to-submit conversion is broken? That’s a form copy problem, not a traffic problem. Pro tells you which.
Webhooks
When a lead is captured or a conversion event fires, Pro can send a real-time webhook to any endpoint — a CRM, a Zapier workflow, a Slack notification, a custom pipeline. Webhook delivery is logged with full request/response data, and failed deliveries can be retried from the admin. This is the feature that turns ClickIntent from a standalone lead logger into a piece of a larger marketing stack.
Data Reset
Pro includes a clean data reset option — wipe all leads, events, and webhook logs without touching your sections, settings, or DB tables. Useful at the end of a campaign cycle, or when handing a site over to a new client.
